There is a tremendous need for volunteers in nonprofit and governmental agencies throughout Walworth County. Our communities need volunteers to share their experience, time and talents with others. By volunteering you are sharing a precious gift - YOURSELF!

WALWORTH COUNTY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

  • AMERICAN RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVES - Donator Room aide, serve refreshments, registration table or unload Red Cross truck.  Blood drive coordinators are also needed.  
  • AURORA VISITING NURSES (VNA) - Provide respite to caregivers, chat with patients or help in the office during special events, Massage Therapists, beauticians, social workers, attorneys, music and pet therapists. Volunteer times are flexible.
  • BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS - Lunch buddies mentoring program/one lunch hour a week
  • CHAMBER OF COMMERCE - Clerical, answer phones help with special events
  • FOOD PANTRIES - Stock shelves, distribute food
  • LIBRARIES - Assist customers in the used bookstore, shelving or join Friends of the library
  • MEALS ON WHEELS - Deliver noon meal to shut-ins
  • MISCELLANEOUS - Transport residents to appointments, crochet and knit items for low-income families for Christmas, data entry, help relocate low income people, food pantry delivery
  • THE NATURE CONSERVANCY - Volunteers needed in each of the 16 townships in Walworth County to collect data on four invasive species
  • ODYSSEY HEALTH CARE - Provide respite to caregivers, chat with patients or help in the office during special events
  • SALVATION ARMY - Ring the Bell for the holidays
  • SENIORS ON THE GO TAXI SERVICE, INC. - Drive their vehicle to escort clients for a variety of needs
  • SENIOR VISITOR - Take someone shopping, shop for them if they can’t go themselves, or just sit and =visit-one to two hours per week
  • TAX PREPARATION AARP - Seasonal-prepare taxes for low-income residents, training provided
  • UNITED WAY OF WALWORTH COUNTY - Helps in the office or assist with special events
  • WALWORTH COUNTY GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY - Research, paperwork
  • WALWORTH COUNTY HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES -
  • WALWORTH COUNTY LITERACY COUNCIL - English as a single language, GED, Citizenship preparation

  • DELAVAN HISTORICAL SOCIETY - Tour guide, maintenance, clerical
  • RIDGESTONE VILLAGE - Call Bingo, activity aide, entertain residents, act as companion
  • ROSEWOOD MANOR - Visit with residents
  • S.M.I.L.E.S. - Assist riders with grooming and saddling their horses as well as during class. Maintenance
  • TELECARE - Phone shut-ins one or two hours per month in the mornings
