Hello Friends,

As some of you know, Volunteer Connection was born out of the closing of RSVP of Walworth County. The then Board of Directors decided it provided so many services to the Walworth County communities, that it should continue. That’s when Volunteer Connection, Inc. became it’s own independent 501(c)3. There have been some challenges over the past 12 years, but thanks to our Board of Directors and Volunteers, Volunteer Connection has weathered it all. It could not be done by one person, it takes a community to work together, helping each other.

A Tale of Care

Local Volunteering Matters!

This April, one of our TeleCare Volunteers was not able to reach a TeleCare client on the calling list. Following procedure, the emergency contact for that client could not be reached either. Our TeleCare Volunteer continued to followed procedure and notified the local Police Department to perform a wellness check, which they willingly do for TeleCare. They found the client had suffered a stroke and immediately transported her to the hospital. That daily check was able to again saved a life. Thank you TeleCare Volunteers! Volunteers are so very important.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is a highly respected, long-standing nationwide mentor program. They are a non-profit agency that matches children with adult Volunteers to help today’s youth reach their full potential. Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Wisconsin serves Walworth, Rock, Jefferson and Dodge Counties. Their office is located in Delavan.

Big Brothers Big Sisters works with children and volunteers through 2 types of programs which you can volunteer to be a part of:

--In the site based program, volunteers share the lunch period with their Little Brother or LIttle Sister, once a week during the school year at the child's school.

--In the community based program, volunteers spend time with their Little Brother or Little Sister for 2-4 hours, 3-4 times a month out in the community.

A volunteer's goal is to build confidence in their Little person and help to set them on the right path by nurturing the child, one on one or as a couple. Learn more about how you can impact a child's life.
